Finding the leaders of the future – our graduate programme

REMONDIS recently launched a new graduate programme in Australia. The Leaders for the Future Graduate Programme is a two-year training period designed to identify tomorrow’s leaders in the area of environmental services. During this period, REMONDIS aims to develop well-rounded professionals and to build their skills and business acumen.

The applications were open to students that had completed their studies in 2015 or would complete them in 2016. Applicants were invited to complete an online application form and to submit their CV and academic transcript.

By the end of the application period, REMONDIS had received 178 completed applications.

Two main professional career paths to choose from

The candidates had the opportunity to enrol for two streams of professions: the technical stream and the business stream.

The technical stream required an academic background in the disciplines of mechanical, environmental or civil engineering or environmental sciences. The business stream was aimed at people with degrees in the areas of management, accounting or business administration.

The four pillars of the graduate program consist of: People (including Human Resources, Safety), Finance, Business Growth (M&A, Sales, Marketing) and Operations (Leadership related projects & logistics)

Attracting talent from top universities

More than half (54%) of our applicants hailed from NSW, followed by Queensland (21%) and Victoria (20%). The balance of applications were from Western Australia, South Australia and from outside Australia.

The top universities by applicant numbers were:

> University of New South Wales (UNSW)
> University of Technology Sydney (UTS)
> University of Queensland (UQ)
> Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
