As of February 2017, REMONDIS has taken charge of operations for the collection of special waste in the areas surrounding Cuijk and Boekel. The Land of Cuijk and Boekel consists of the municipalities of Boekel, Boxmeer, Cuijk, Grave, Mill and Sint Hubert and Sint Anthonis. REMONDIS conducts these operations from its branch in Weurt, located in the South East of the Netherlands.

The contract has a total duration of three years, with two optional extensions of one year each. REMONDIS will be responsible for the collection and processing of hygiene articles. Moreover, our company will proceed with the collection of municipal refuse material such as plastics, metal packaging, beverage cartons and biodegradable waste, in collaboration with the company Baetsen.

For the collection of used hygiene articles, REMONDIS will use a Euro 6 vehicle with integrated weighing system. For the collection of municipal recyclables, REMONDIS has purchased four new gas powered vehicles. In addition to protecting the environment, the clean gas vehicles have lower engine noise as compared to diesel-powered trucks, and therefore reduce nuisances. The new vehicles will enter service on 1 July 2017.

With the acquisition of new trucks, REMONDIS sets a clear sign for its commitment to use energy efficient vehicles for the collection of recyclables.
